You falsely accused me of "mix[ing] [my] posters". One would think that 'sorry about that, my mistake' would be much more appropriate than 'no problem' in this case, don't you?

As I did observe just previously, semantics is wonderful but we need to get the sense of the words also.

Then by all means address my earlier post regarding "arsenokoites" and "malakos".

That would be called understanding.

edit: "Fornication-Porneia" appears to be referring to sexual acts. can you provide so evidence that it is also referring to sexuality?
You mightalso look at 1 Timothy 1:9-11.
(1 Timothy 1:9-11) recognizing that law is made, not for a righteous man, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, ungodly and sinners, disloyal and profane, murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, manslayers, 10 sexually immoral people, men who practice homosexuality, kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and everything else that is in opposition to the wholesome teaching 11 according to the glorious good news of the happy God, with which I was entrusted.
As 1 Corinthians 6:11 says,(1 Corinthians 6:11) And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean; you have been sanctified; you have been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.

All of which are man made rules or mores, a god did not say any of that. Those verses just lets hate crimes continue using verses like that for justification. There is NO justification for bias based on sexual identity.

It is being cast away as we speak with same sex marriages legal in many countries and a number of states in the US as well. In a hundred years sexual bias will be a thing of the past, at least legally. There will still be hate crimes based on those verses though. When commercial religions are banished to the back door of humanity, a LOT of hate crimes will fall by the wayside. Of course that isn't going to happen here on Earth any time in the next couple thousand years, the scourge of religion will be with us for a long long time with nothing to show for it, last days saga after last day saga scaring people into following the religious line for century after century hence. There will ALWAYS be weak minded people who will inevitably fall for the recurring line of religious bull shyte.

interesting that you say the bible uses the word 'homosexuality'....are you sure that is the correct translation?

The Bible uses the same term at 1 Corinthians 6:9, (1 Corinthians 6:9) Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality,
so it is correct.
Do you feel a different practice is indicated?

Excuse me, you did mix your posters. Your observation about drinking applied to someone else. Maybe you should deal with just one thread at a time. That way no chance to mix up who you are addressing. Just a suggestion.
As far as your "words', I don't speak Greek so I can't understand the sense of the words. Are you a Greek speaking scholar?
I don't believe you made that comment on this thread either. You have really mixed your posts.

Yes, that is a part of the "practice of homhsexuality" (although not exclusively). Perhaps a comparison with a new modern translation that incorporates all the latest linguistic understandings of the real language scholars could be of benefit.
The Bible I cite is taken from the original languages and revised 2013.

it is part of the practice of some homosexuals....its is also the practice of some heterosexuals.

so it wouldnt be fair to translate 'sodomy' to 'homosexual' wouldnt you agree?

Seriously? Instead of apologizing for accusing me of mixing my posters, you write this?

Look at page 2 of this thread. I responded to a post by josephw. In the "Quoted Post" box it clearly says:

You made the mistake of thinking that my response to josephw was addressed to you. You falsely accused me of mixing my posters. I pointed this out to you and you once again falsely accuse me of having mixed my posters?

Now you are falsely accusing me of not knowing what I've posted on this thread.

Look at my post on page 1 of this thread. It's the fourth post down.

What you've shown on this thread, above all else, is that you have no clue as to what you're talking about - not only on the topic of this thread, but evidently anything else.

How about finally addressing the following?

There is benefit in comparing various translations, adding to our understanding of language. Language usage changes from year to year.
For example in the 1890's gay had an entirely different meaning.

Oh I definitely agree. Sodomy is only a choice for anyone. It does originate with the Bible account of Sodom where it was a practice.
Since I am not a Greek scholar, I can't say the term used is that specific or if it indicates a wider range of practices. I can see it was listed as an equal with other bad behaviors all of which were identified as bad in God's sight,
