my question - do christians think the same is true for people who have biological issues stopping them from having children? are they being punished by god?

The Bible says that man is born to trouble as sparks fly upward. Who can avoid some unfortunate things happening to him ?

The wonderful thing is that God is able to make ALL things work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

The most badest of the bad things was the cruxifixion of the Son of God to murder Him and get Him out of the way. This was the top bad thing to occur in history.

When Peter swung his sword to defend the Son of God he thought he was doing his best to stop this terrible thing from happening - the execution of the Son of God.

Yet marvelously God turned this crime into the possibility of life eternal to those responding to His call.

God is able to turn all our misfortunes into pure gold. He has the sovereign power to do that.

Surely you read the story in Genesis about Joseph.

putting myself in christian shoes i would say 'yes' they are being punished. if man was perfect before the fall and all imperfections are because of sin, then fertility problems are because of sin.

the book of job explains why bad things happen to good people. that part isn't even as philosophical as the rest.

god makes a bet with satan and allows him to turn job into a torture doll.
