Why should I waste time providing you with spiritual knowledge when you just mock me?
You made a statement about how not all the bible should be taken literally.
I am asking how you identify the literal from the allegorical.
I am genuinely interested.
You get mocked when you do not back up your statements.
Don't get mocked - just answer honestly.

If you read the Holy Bible enough you will get a feel for the characters just like any character in biographies, novels, and histories. If it makes sense taken literally then that is a pretty good sign that it should be taken literally. You should judge how others you are reading about react to situations, etc. I lot of ideas come into play when deciding and I can't come up with a precise formula for you to go by.

P.S. Can you tell someone how to tell if something is porn or not? Maybe not. But you know it when you see it, right?
