It is finished means that as a Christian one no longer has to struggle and fight to work out their salvation or relationship with God. Jesus did it all. I mean He did it all. And Abraham believed God and it was accredited to him as righteousness. Abraham didn't do anything, he just believed. There's not a thing one can do to work out their salvation or good standing with God. Jesus already did it all. It is finished. We can now enter into His rest.

Kinda like this?

Jesus asked some Episcopalians, "Who do you say that I am?"

They replied, "You are the eschatological manifestation of the ground of our being, the kerygma of which we find the ultimate meaning in our interpersonal relationships."

And Jesus paused for a second and said, "What?"

😉

EDIT: (Sorry for the highjack...)

28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

John 19:28-30 (KJV)

Obviously, Christ is saying, "Ok, I drank my vinegar. Can I have dessert now please?"
