Because he is irrationally and idiotically convinced that everything was designed by his god.
He sees a purpose and intention behind the function of everything that in reality just doesn't exist.
Whether RC was a bigoted and ignorant homophobe before he became a JW I can't say.
But his religion has certainly given him freedom to express and strengthen his vile and pathetic bigotry.
EDIT: and the idea that the human body is not just designed but perfectly designed is so plainly and
evidently wrong that I struggle to comprehend how anyone could possibly believe it.

Two people having (any kind of) sex, neither of whom are carrying an STD, will after
sex still not have any STD's.
STD's can be transmitted by ANY kind of sex, with differing transmission probabilities,
which means the problem is people not having protected sex and having too many
concurrent partners.
Neither of which are problems specific to anal sex.
Also your claim that the human body is designed by your god is a claim you must prove
before it has ANY validity.
Given that science and common sense roundly disproves your claim of design your argument
has no validity.
