Is there even a single translation where it's translated "he doesn't choose to deny himself?" In every translation I find, the statement is that God does not have the ability to do anything counter to his nature.

It's not choice; it's a limitation of agency.
Counter his nature, no I agree, but his abilities yes which was what
the topics of discussion were at the time. If you were bringing
something new to the table and I missed it, than my bad.
