just wondering why he said that. I would say that the human race
in our current condition isn't free; we are bound by sin, bound by
the hate, bound by self justification, and so on. A free will would
not be concern about justifying one's self, nor would be filled
with sin, hate and so on. Personally, I am of the opinion that
a free will is still filled with a few things that are the norm for
what humanity was designed for which is love, joy, and hope.
These however are only found unsoiled or polluted by the creator
of the universe, God.
He just made a statement he did not back it up with any reasons
why he felt that way.

Hi,
The line of thinking behind this thread is relatively simple. There is an apparent paradox in Christianity. God is stated to be both omnipotent and omnipresent, meaning he knows not only what you will do, but he'll also be there when you do it. Now, Christians believe that the soul, if you will, is created uniquely by God. Sooooo, God create ...[text shortened]... who creates people to fry, or self determination by a diety who's not such a know it all.
Christianity put forward that we have 'free will' as oppossed to fate IE determinism contra pre-determinism....Your gem has poked a huge whole in their philosophy......Nietzsche would be proud and I'd rec you if I could 😉
