Well, to make everything simple and easy to read, the answer is "NO" the Pope
did not change the Sabbath to Sunday. Sunday meetings and worship began
immediately after the Resurrection when Christ appeared to His disciples. There
is no record of any Pope declaring that he was changing the Saturday weekly
Sabbath to Sunday. The meetings on Sunday, called 'the Lord's Day" was in
recognition and in honor of Christ rising from the dead and to worship Him as
our Lord and Savior. It became a tradition and had nothing at all to do with any
attempt at changing the jewish Sabbath, which is still observed by the Jews. The
gentile Christians never observed the Sabbath at all, but later these meetings on
"the Lord's Day" was misunderstood as a Sabbath observance.

Surely everyone already knows that? The only people I have heard who acted ignorant were seventh day Adventists, but they only pretend to be ignorant because they want to make out that they are right and everyone else is wrong.

I think that there are others besides the s+Seventh Day Adventists that believe
a Catholic Pope changed the Sabbath to Sunday. Even some members of the
RMC brag about the power of their church to change the Sabbath to Sunday as
being proof of their being the true church that Christ built on Peter, the rock.

Given the various shifts in calendars over the millennia does it even matter from a doctrinal
point of view what day is kept holy as long as you keep every seventh day 'holy'?

The point relates to my thread "Rise of Islam - Dainiel 7".

In particular the following part of Dainiel 7:

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, -- (the AntiChrist speaks against Christ)
Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, -- Christians will be persecuted)
And shall intend to change times and law. -- (Muslim Calendar and Sharia Law)

Islamic Sabbath change -- Attempt to change times and laws.

Sorry I don't understand, if it's to do with your other thread then why start this new one?

If it's to do with the Pope how is that related to your other thread which is about Islam?

Do you keep the Sabbath? Why is this whole thing important to you (you can answer this in my other thread about "Sabbath Keepers"

There are some that say the verse in Daniel 7 that refers to someone thinking to
change times and laws refers to the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church since
they say one of the laws they changed was the time of the Sabbath. The point of
this thread is to point out that it does not refer to the Pope or the Roman Catholic
Church. I had no more to say about Daniel 7 because I had already pointed out
what the changing of times and laws referred to. So even though this thread was
related to Daniel 7, it goes off on an entirely different subject that bring up unrelated
questions, like the one you ask about keeping the Sabbath, which someone else
has started a new thread on now.
Now, as to your question, " Do you keep the Sabbath?" I could simply say, "Yes."
However, I doubt you really know what keeping the Sabbath means and you
would get a wrong impression and think I go to church every Saturday. If that
is what you think, then the answer would be "No". I keep the Sabbath is the same
manner that Christ did when the Pharisee accused Him of breaking the Sabbath.
HallleluYah !!!

The JWs believe something even more bizarre. They claim not only that Saturday was the day of obligatory religious worship but also that commemoration of the Lord's Supper was instituted on Sundays quite some time later by Pope Victor and that the original Apostolic practice had been to reserve this to the Jewish date of the Passover.

dude your back, we had the annual observance of the lords evening meal last night,
was awesome, 105,000 congregations worldwide celebrating the event, together with
friends, pity you weren't there, oh well, you know that the ol church fathers changed
the Sabbath because of their anti Semitism, I have provided references in the past,
you know its true. We observe the lords evening meal after the manner of the Christ,
on the day of the passover, an annual event, you know its true.

The Watchtower must be influenced by Satan for them to put out so much
wrong information about Christ and Christianity. They certainly have no
right to claim they are Christians. They are Jehovah's Witnesses. But who
really is this Jehovah character they are trying to witness to. Is it perhaps
Satan in another one of his disguises?

Does that make you feel good and all puffed up and proud of yourself as you go
through the motions as a pretender?
