I can see that it's pointless.
I ask you once again to show why your extrapolation of the words "the Son shall set you free" is more valid than mine. If you could easily do this you would have done so by now. You know as well as I do that Jesus says many things that need extrapolation and interpretation , he even admits this himself.
However, you take your extrapolation as self evident and then pretend it's not an extrapolation , thus never feeling the need to validate it against other extrapolations. You dare not admit to yourself that you are extrapolating on Jesus's words here just as much as the next man. You cannot do this because you have no other way of defending your position other than the "ToO is right , and everyone else is extrapolating" mantra. You basically assume that you cannot possibly be wrong and see anyone as trying to test out your position as a distorter.
The opportunity is there to show how robust your position is and you choose not to take it. What I always notice as well is how it's just at the very point when things are looking a bit tricky for you that you decide "it's pointless". My son does this on the playstation when it's going against him. Do you not have the self knowledge to see the game you are playing with yourself? It's always you that walks off.
