Sure; all good Catholic school kids had to back in the day. Had a religion class every single day and it was readings and study from the Good Book itself. They tended to just assign the Old Testament massacre parts and gloss them over a bit (same as the the drunken guy having sex with his daughters part) but we had to read the whole thing each year.
