If "God gets along just fine without man. Unlike man, He is complete, in and of Himself," then I wonder what is the point of having created man?
Not that I am asserting there is none, I just wonder what the traditional theistic answers to this question are.

For man to "serve the Lord God with gladness", he must acknowledge:
that the Lord is God

than man is not to rule over himself for it is God who will rule over him because they are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
