Prayer = The idea that God's plans are so whimsically trivial that He'll change for you if you beg hard enough.

Prayer = The idea that Gods ego is so big that it needs stroking regularly.

Prayer = The idea that admitting your sin and asking for forgiveness absolves you.

Prayer = The idea of being able to talk to someone who never talks back.

Prayer = a whole lot easier than actually dealing with your problems.

Prayer = The ability and love of such a powerful spirit that he can look down upon us creatures made from dust and actually hear our prayers and answer them. How incredibly loving he is to put up with us.

Yes I've read it. Though I will admit it took me 6 weeks. I found it a tough read.

There's nothing on the other side. No pit no paradise. As you're likely closer to death than I am I'd recommend you make the most of your time.

What's an acceptable hit rate for prayer? 2%? 5%?

Prayer's are a delusion and God and adult security blanket.

Sorry you have no concept of what the need of prayer to God does for humans and the benifits for doing that. I could not imagine the spiritual darkess you are in. It's like being lost in a pitch black forest full of danger and not having night vision..

Lighting the forest on fire would be a fairly easy task.

    Let there be light.

I'm sure in your case the afterlife is wonderous. Just in case it loses it's spleandor as you get older I'd suggest you throw yourself into traffic.

Prayer=Working in mysterious ways towards a goal that borders on impossible. The more the better the statistical odds so Jesus said if 2 or more pray AND believe(more good odds) then it will be done.

    Ha! I like that!

Yet I still believe God answers prayers. Parents are like that.

The more the dumberer you are the better the statistical odds Jesus will find your illiterate self in Spirituality.

Thoughtful human beings eventually arrive at the stern realzation that our sojourn on earth is, at its very best, a fleeting vapor trail. Well before awakening one morning with the dawning question, "Where did my children go?", they've already begun applying their focused resources to solve challenges others ignore, to matter in the scheme of things and to make their lives count.
