Yeah, Russ, straight and honest: I've been here for long years and
I still see people who remain as non subs ad infinitum.

What? Don't they like the site? If so, what the heck are they doing
here? The idea of a website thought as a business is: here's a freebie
for you to try, if you like it then join and support the site's great
features. Same goes for software and other stuff.

So, how come people can come here and enjoy chess and the forums
(and now even clubs!!!) for years and still not make up their mind?
They are like the fatsos circling around the supermarket tasting all
the free samples and buying nothing. Like the people living on social security!
To hell with them! We've seen enough trolls coming and going, and they keep
coming because this site allows them to enjoy the stuff for free for an
indefinite period of time.

I say top non sub time: you can be a non sub for 90 days and if after that
you have not subscribed, then you're off. IP address and/or email
are recorded so you can' try again unless you move to another
IP and/or get yet anooooother gmail account. At least they will have to
make an effort, change the username, and not become entrenched, milking
all the benefits without chipping in.

This website rocks, Russ, that's why we, subs, keep paying. Don't let the
leeches milk the benefits we have in exchange for nothing.

Thanks.

The only reason to pay is to get more than 6 games. Those who don't want more shouldn't have to pay. Simple as that.

If RHP isn't getting enough ad revenue from the non-subs, then sure, they should consider some kind of cap. Otherwise, I vote to leave it as it is.

I'm a new non-sub, and you know what? I agree with this proposal. I think I will probably subscribe in the near future anyway (love the site), but if there was some kind of limit on freebie membership I would definitely become a subsciber at some point.

Well I was a non-sub for a lot longer than 90 days.

If what you suggest was in place when I joined, Russ would be $40 poorer.

If it was a hospice, most games would be decided by time-out:-)
