I think we need to install a 3/10 time out
I think that 3/14 is to long
Keep the ones we have. I had to change my clan from a 3/7 to 3/14 cuz some are out of town working and lose due to time outs.
A 3/10 allows you just 3 extra days in that week.

If you want the games to go a little faster then changing the timeout is more effective than changing the timebank. Perhaps a 2 day timeout would be better.

I understand the system
That answer you gave only make for a faster game, but wont solve the problem.
Thank you for sharing you thoughts

How is a 14 day timebank too long? It could extend a game 7 extra days over 3/7. A week extra in a game that can take months anyway. That sounds pretty huge.

Well at that rate a standard game could last about 16 months (32) moves. If the players moved once every 14 days. Some players wait till the las moment to do so.
Thanks for you in put

I'm playing a tourney which is 7/14. A guy ther moves about every 6 1/2 days. That's pretty annoying, since we are the last group, and all our games are done except the ones vs. him.

I don't think you understand the timebank.

At 32 move game, slowest moves and all time
bank used the results for time are:

3/7 games could go 206 days
3/10 games could go 214 days
3/14 games could go 220 days

On top of all that, we get vacation time to freeze
games as a new rule. Perhaps you want to play
1/21 games. 3 weeks banked, and a month to
finish the game. Don't forget the time we get extra
each year for vacation flags.

That's timeout period not timebank. Your situation has nothing to do with this thread but thanks for posting it anyway. Also, that's perfectly within the rules and if you didn't want a game that could take 1 week per half move you shouldn't be playing 7 day timeout.

NO SYMPATHY.

You still don't understand. In a 3/7 game if you do not move in 3 days your timebank starts counting down. When it reaches zero you can be timed out. If you make a move after losing 2 days of timebank then later in the game you will only have a buffer of 5 days.

THE MOST A TIMEBANK CAN EXTEND A GAME IS ITS LENGTH TIMES TWO (BECAUSE THERE ARE TWO PLAYERS).

The major component in the length of a game is in fact the timeout period. That's why 0/60 games are played very fast (must be finished in 60 days) and 21/0 games last years and years.

I'm a little surprise dundee24 skipped right over my post after thanking everyone else he didn't agree with.
