Surprisingly enough, explaining mod decisions / trying to resolve them regardless of if they were my decision or not made me one of the most hated mods. (zero exaggeration here, no kidding)

People don't want to hear an explanation, they want to be right. When they see me try to explain, I become the bad guy and the root of all evil.

One thing I've liked about RHP and moderation is the users right to question mods (as much as it also pains me). There is NOT another site online where you can question mods the same way you can question them here (to an extent). A solution to any problem would be ZERO tolerance (like all other sites) of questioning mods.

No one can question mods, mods don't need to answer anything. Just pluck the posts as soon as they come, and ban the user. First ban is first warning, second ban is end of user's posting rights.

I don't think anyone wants that, though it would solve a lot. I can't have it both ways, and neither can posters complaining.

Russ is the final decision about moderation always, he can undo anything a mod has done. Personally, I'd prefer he checked in more and reminded us we were doing a good job, or tell us we screwed up.

The crux of the matter is that you shouldn't of posted it in ANY forum in ANY manner. You should have passed the information along to the Game Mods through the site feedback.

I would say this makes you quite a popular guy actually. You placed 4th in the voting, David Tebb, Korch, and Gatecrasher, being the only ones finishing higher than you out of 11 people.

So to say that you are one of the most hated mods is quite an exaggeration, in my opinion. I believe quite the opposite is indeed true, and you most likely would have got more votes if people had more been allowed more votes!
