First post in this forum not from Russ: cool! 😵
OK: idea goes something like this:
A New Poll has a first post, where a question is asked and we have either of two answer formats:
1) Force polls to be yes/no/no preference questions
2) More complicated interface for multi-choice questions
The answers are shown much like recs (counts of Y/N/No opinion/other).
Things to think about:
allow further posts, or just the question?
spoil ballot option always provided for polls using Leading questions (E.g. Have you always liked celery?)
erm... well other things.

Good. nice. But: what do you want to ask?
"Russ, I want this or that?" - No way!
"He is a good player?" - No...
"d3 is a good opening?" - R U sure?
th
Outright questions (examples):
Do you like celery? (I'm voting no)
Should the voting age be lowered to 16?
Is d4 your standard opening move?
Is the film "animal house" actually funny?
Is Elvis dead?
... etc.
Examples of questions based on recent forums might be:
Bush or Kerry?
Have you ever used a computor to make a move for you?
Was the US acting reasonably when refusing Mr Islam (a.k.a. Cat Stevens) entry to the USA?
Is multiclanism better than polyclanism?
And so on.

Actually, I don't think a new forum called Polls is exactly what I'm after but just the ability to create a Poll thread within the existing forums, this is quite common in other forum software packages I've come across.
Don't know what the timescales for that are though.
