Community Scoring Profile

For each player, other players could mark a slot, if they chose to:

1. Game play options (times out games without resigning lost positions, drags lost positions out as long as possible to manipulate time etc)

2. Makes rude comments and false accusations etc

3. Fun ethical player

4. Suddenly plays about 500 points above actual playing strength in tough positions

Here is the best part: The profile wouldn't actually "appear" attached to the profile-check on the player unless at least (pick a number) so many players entered the comments.

Preventing abuses would be fairly easy as all that would be necessary is for those who were tainted wrongly could appeal to the mods. Those making false appeals would be banned.

The benefit is that clan leaders and individual players could check out the challenges before accepting them. Also, tournaments could be restricted to those who finish their games without timing them out and who don't use engines and who aren't in the habit of making rude and inappropriate comments and accusations.

No real flame, but I just don't like this kind of popularity contest kind of stuff.

I know what you mean, but it doesn't have to be that. Maybe a safe-guard against the popularity contest could be that the profile tag would only appear AFTER the mods determined the validity of the marks.
