I am wondering how difficult it would be to allow characters from Cyrillic, as well as German, to be displayed on this site. When communicating with our Russian friends, my Cyrillic keyboard is not displayed as such, but as a series of numbers, presumably the ASCII codes for the characters.
Can this be easily remedied?

I'm happy that we have the Swedish special letters: Å, Ä and Ö.

If that is possible, (as you have demonstrated), then a few special German letters should be, as well.
How can all the German and Russian chess players allow the Swedes to have an advantage?!!

I was under the impression that this was a serious thread.
My mistake.
Could someone direct me to a thread where the clowns do not roam.

Three fora over, but tread lightly. That's where the Estonians' play and they still think they're the only ones entitled to be here.

PS....I'm always serious about my Thai.

One letter I don't have on my keyboard is the french c with a comma, like the one in 'Francoise'. Does that work? I try: 'Françoise'. Yes, it did. (?)

How about the various letters in Polish and Tjeckian? They seems to have a buch of non-ascii letters...

Vietnam has a lot of non-standard letters in their alphabet. Thanks to French missionary linguistics they could get rid of the chinese-like signs, and introduce an european style alphabet.

Can we read this?
"Fitch nói gì về việc hạ điểm tín nhiệm nợ công của Việt Nam?"

No? Okay, read the original at http://vneconomy.vn/

All you need is

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

and

A B C E F G H

To play Chess

If you people put just ½ the effort into your chess as you do into thinking
up these cock-eyed hair-brained ideas then you would all be Grandmasters.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
Russ spent months colouring in those wee flags so you could display them
in your profiles.

Now you want your own special letters. Why don't you leave the man in peace.

(Thai food gives you plukes).

Eat Thai 2-3 times a week - skin, clear as a bell - and the other bell's pretty sound as well. 😉

🙂

Prefer bangers and mash, mince and tatties. Love haggis and neeps.

Hate eating food that I cannot pronounce.
