I quite enjoyed "the Music of the Primes" by Macrus du Sautoy, and am about to start on my currently un-read Hawking's collection (I started "Black Holes and Baby Universes" when I was still in school, but gave up when it all went over my head. That, it shall be the first to be read...)

I Am A Strange Loop "I Am A Strange Loop" is an excellent book. Thoroughly well-written, thought provoking, and entertaining at the same time. I recommend it highly.

'Soul of the White Ant' and 'Soul of the Ape' are favourite scientific texts of mine but for literary reasons. Same goes for works of Darwin (Erasmus & Charles) & von Humboldt.
