I had an uncle who had the empathy of a rug. He took that calf and tied his head down to the ground and then proceeded to shoot the poor thing in the head with a 22. I think it was even a 22 short. Well I saw all that happen and was totally shocked to see it I can tell you! What got me was you could see the bullet half sticking out the calf's head and it slowly bled to death, which I think too over an hour. My uncle just left it there with this totally bewildered look in its eye. Talk about cruel.

we get attached to that special one as they do to us. When I returned from'
the Army on a leave my grandpa asked for my help in capturing my pet cow
at this time because he wanted to move her to another pasture but she ran
away and he couldn't get close to her. It had been over a year but she
apparently recognized me and allowed me come up to her and pet her and
put the rope on her and lead her up into the truck.
