I count in the second (mating) move
24 queen moves (12 different squares)
11 king moves (6 different squares)
1 knight move
1 rook move

But I may be missing one or two

Sorry. Can you help me understand the question?
The only square the King can move to is mate in 1, isn't it. As in, the White king.

White plays 1.Rg4 (to find this move is part of the question). Black has 37 different moves after this move, but after each of them, white gives mate in 1. The 37 variations leach ead to checkmate given by white piece moves in the amounts given above.
