Easy problem with only two things that need to be analysed. Have shown this to beginners to test their ability to look forward/their ability to notice that the black rook can do nothing effective.

black to move is a little more interesting

at least if some form of chance at success were involved ..

the rank beginner hastily takes the rook, but other options exist.

white to move is simply nasty...

i think i'll have another red...
