This was on the Tickle IQ test. I couldn't work it out.

John likes 400 but not 300; he likes 100 but not 99; he likes 3600 but not 3700. Which does he like?

This might sound stupid but I still don't get it. What do you mean by squares exactly?

In loose terms, a square integer is an integer that may be expressed as the square of another integer.

For example, 900 is a square because it is equal to 30 times 30.
