If black mirrors all of white's moves, then white to play and mate in four.

Yep, zzyw has one solution. Congratulations. There are also two more possibilities.

nice, double blindness from me. neither did i see that posting, nor the solution. i just thought, it probably has to start with d-pawn (or another pawn) cause i couldnt find anything for e-pawn. good puzzle! 🙂

Had another look and can't find them... guess I just suck at puzzles like these. 🙁

not sure if this counts as a "different" solution to the one above, but 1.d4 2.Qd3 3.Qh3 4.Qxc8# works... same idea as 3.Qf5 though

Yep Aethereal, I'm assuming that they have to be radically different...🙁

well that is one, so there's one more solution left. It's just that Aethareal won himself no friends by posting it 😉

1 edit

1. c4 c5 2. Qa4 Qa5 3. Qc6 Qc3 4. Qxc8#.

This was somewhat easy due to the fact that 4. Qxc8# has to be the 4th move.

I always assumed that in order for there to be three, they might be different. It'd be more fun that way, at least.
