Chess Challenger 10 from 1980, is knocking about somewhere.
Advanced Star Chess is also around, possibly in the same place as CC10.
(I live in a large house - 4 bedrooms for two people. 1 of the bedrooms is
filled with junk. Boxes and boxes of junk. Chess junk....good junk.)
A few of the pocket ones I recently threw out because I had not used them
in years (and I mean years). They were in a box and because I left the batteries
in they leaked and ruined them.
I have a Saitek Mephisto which I take on trips or simply play when I can't sleep.
(the lid has gone and so have most of the pieces but I can hold one game
in my head easy enough so no problem there.)
If Mrs GP is sleeping on her left side I play a Kingside attack.
If Mrs GP is sleepinging on her right side I play a Queenside attack.
If Mrs GP is sleeping on her back then I don't play the Mephisto. 😉

I have videomaster chess champion, in its box, it takes about 5 seconds to realise its in checkmate.

A Saitek chess challenger, which i thought was broken but actually had the fun level bug.
A Saitek master which is new, and with a wood chess set, my current computer opponent.
I had a Novag Star ruby, which had a terrible opening book, it only plays e4-e5 and looses to almost any trap there after. it broke (well i broke it by opening it up, what a clutz)
And i had a Saitek executive, which was great, taught me how to play chess, but fell victim to a glass of milk being spilt on it...

Regarding chess computers...I was checking them out the other day and thought the one that moves it's own pieces was a neat concept. Then I watched a youtube vid and had to fast-forward though the board set up. Man, it would get annoying waiting on that thing. Even with a move over-ride function I would rather have a stronger AI than a noisy (it is LOUD) gimmick. It is neat though...

Seriously, I bet many of the better chess comps become valuable as the years progress, just like certain video games get scarcer and worth more and more.

I don't understand all of the forum politics but from reading his profile he seems pretty straight-forward about his abilities (he's only claiming around 1500). One thing is certain...he irked a bunch of people somehow.
I wish to avoid entanglement in something I don't understand...
