anyone here on rhp play 2. ...e6 in the open sicilian? I know very little of it personally and meet it with 3. d3, setting up the King's Indian Attack.

I dont think ive ever seen it answered with a kings indian

Kings indian isnt even d3

most Grand Masters, answer it with the Yugoslav attack

Yeah you just dont see that, that much

i've only met 2. ...e6 twice in my short chess life and both times 3. d3 and the game transposed to positions of the KIA resembling those after 1. e4 e6 2. d3 d5

In fact, you don't ever see the KIA very much at all!

I think it's most common in Bullet Chess where you can pump out the formation (King's knight to f3, d3, queens knight to d2, g3, Bg2, O-O...) without really paying attention to what black does

I find the Scilican the hardest to defend for beginners.

I play 2...e6 mostly. Because I play the Shavenien (don´t know the letters...xD) and that variation can be reached with both: 2...d6 and 2...e6 (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.e5 doesn not work ...Qa5+ wins a pawn and therfore white can only transpode)

But if U use the 2...e6 move order U avoid all Bb5+ or not + variations.

2...e6 can also be used to reach the Kan and the Taimanov variations.

I've never had any real problems with open sicilian systems with 2. ...Nc6 (hell I myself use the Accelerated Dragon) and with 2. ...d6, I'm more than willing to play the white side of the Najdorf and Dragon.
