Alekhine.......alot of people will say Kasparov....but if you notice....

everyone says that the best guy is usually the current best guy of there time...if that makes sense.

Alekhine didn't have computers and databases.......

Can you post the pgn of the last tournament he won in the afterlife? 😛

I don't think it's easy to say Alekhine is better than Kasparov or vice versa.

Do you really think computers is why Kasparov is as good as he is? I doubt it.

They do help, but I don't think they are close to being a determining factor.

Kasparov would likely have become a GM and a great one without computers.

I love Alekhine, in fact he is my favorite chess player!!!!!!!!!!
He is the magician of the chessboard.

However, don't forget Lasker, who held the World Championship for
27 years, which is the longest by far among everybody.

ya know i never seen Kasparov playing random chess.....hmmm?

I bet a shirov or a christiansen can destroy kasparov at random chess.

    he didn't have computers.

and nothing you can say can change that.

Alekhine looked at the board. he didn't ask his "seconds" for help.

he wasn't coached as a kid.

and he didn't have loads of databases looking for the best move at move 23....

Kasparov is amazing....but Alekhine is a God.

What do computers have to do with random chess? You think you need computers to play random chess?

Are you saying that Kasparov asks his "seconds" to win his tournaments? Sounds like you're accusing him of cheating.

I don't even care who is better, but I think it's funny when you make up an accusation that Kasparov has never played random chess so somehow that makes him less good - when you don't even use the same criteria to judge your "god".

I am simply saying the two aren't comparable. I would guess that Kasparov would have potentially been just as good as Alekhine if he was born from Alekhine's mom instead.

wow...easy big fella....ok kasparov is better....don't wet yourself now.

i bet you have a board signed by kasparov......take it easy man.

also...my comments about Alekhine with no computers or "seconds" had nothing to do with random chess...

    do you have kasparov PJ's?
