I've dropped Anand's Best Games on ebay 99p £2.00 post UK only.
Here is my description:
Paperback, 237 pages, used but in good condition.
This has been a working book so each game have been 'crossed off''
with an X in biro by a previous reader. This does not interefere in
anyway with the text.
40 well annotated games from 1986 -1997 by the current World Champion.
Opponents include: Kramnik, Karpov, Kasparov and Kamsky
(5 games v Kamsky - Vishy simply enjoys beating up Kamsky).
The games are well selected with Anand walking you through them
with logical easy to understand notes. Anand also litters the games
with enjoyable anecdotes.
Not a book for the Home & Casual player so if you do not have a
national grade then don't buy it. The notes are not THAT simple.
If you are looking for a book to impress your friends and make your
bookcase look interesting then buy 'War and Peace' and let some
poor chess player buy this.
As standard with this type of book there are 30 positions from Anand's
games for you to solve. These are not your usual fare - some of them
are quite hard.
I did not try them all, just the positions that looked interesting.
To make things even more interesting for you,
I have ripped out the solutions!!
(no, that is joke)
This book needs reading and studying, not doing so would be an injustice.
I'm only selling it because Anand's style is not my cup ot tea but he
will be for other chess players. I've played through the games (it was
not me that marked the book), I got what I wanted from this book
and am now passing it on.to a fellow chess player.
Buy it, read it, study it, keep it if you think you are going keep dipping in to it.
If not, sell it. Don't let this book gather dust.
(better make it clear - I have not ripped out any pages, the book,
apart from a previous chess playern ticking off the games with a pen
is in excellent condition).

The Chinese book is good.
Once you have read it, 30 minutes later you want to read it again 🙂

The first Chapter 'The Art of Thinking' has Liu Wenzhe taking you
through move by move his crushing win over GM Hans Donner in 1978.
He tells you why he played the moves and actually gives the details
about the after game celebrations. A wonderful piece of chess writing.
Chapter 3: The Origin and Nature of Chess is a thought provoking
chapter that anyone interested in this area of chess will find very
beneficial.
Other Chapters include, Models of Chess Thought, The Theory of
Training, The Strategy of Competition and Opening Principles.
The last Chapter, Opening Principles is a very deep look into the
games chosen as examples including one game called
'Chines Kung-Fu in The Benoni.'
(Gherghiu v Liu Wemzhe, Lucerne 1982) A smashing game with excellent notes.
Now a warning:
This is not a book for the casual Chess Player
This is a chess players book and a good chess player will learn something from it.
My favourite games collection is of course Alekhine's & Tartakower's.
The modern elite.......?
The would have to Anand's it's the only one I've read.
(it's not too bad but it will gather dust - so sell it?)
oh great and illustrious greenpawn, i visited the windy city, tis was beautiful as i looked across to Leith from the top of Aurthurs seat, over to Fife i spotted a green and white edifice the locals termed Easter road. To be sure Edinburgh is a beautiful city, but not as beautiful as this Vishy game, how anyone when they look at a chessboard and the e pawn cries out in zeal, pick me! pick me! cannot appreciate the World champion i dunno? dig this my man, for it is a work of true bravery and beauty!
