What's everyone's opinion on solitare chess...where you go over a game and guess the moves of one side. Pandolfini has the "Solitaire Chess" column in chess life, which I used to skip, but now realized that it's actually quite fun.
Does anyone know if his book with the same title is any good (basically a collection from the magazine I believe)?
I have plenty of game collections, including 1953 Zurich. Do you have any methods of scoring or keeping track? That’s one thing I like with the columns is that he has the point system worked out for you. Any ideas how to keep track using game collections? Perhaps a percentage correct out of the moves guessed?
Originally posted by passedpawn22I wouldnt worry about scoring. its good when youre starting out, but after a while you can just look up what move you missed, and ask why and how important it is.
