Typical Alekhine stategic game - weak pawn on e5, win the weak pawn on e5, convert the ending.

Fix'd

Seriously, 16.Ng5?? is so bad. What was white thinking? He traded a defender of e5 for a piece that wasn't attacking e5.

16.0-0 and 17.Re1 is simple and to the point - overprotect that pawn.

very nice... it seems you transposed to a Caro-Kann Advanced Variation and executed the big theme I remember from when I played the Kann: simplify, simplify, simplify, win endgame.

longest game of my life, and it's all because i am terrible at endgames. we probably broke the 50 move rule at one point, or the three move repetition rule. when he had 3 pawns and a rook still on the board, i was putting no thought into the moves whatsoever. i was just trying to give check enough consecutive times that he would realize the game was drawn by perpetual check if nothing else. but then i picked up a pawn. and then i picked up 2 pawns. and when the last one fell... i was stuck. K+Q vs. K+R is not an endgame i have committed to memory. fortunately for me, by logically closing the space he could move in to a small square of the board, i finally nabbed the rook (I'm sure he didn't put up the best defense). Anyhow, my longest game ever. Enjoy.

Nothing special, just a fun 5-0 on RHP blitz. Went up a queen and had a fun king chase into a mating net.

ok here's one of actual quality.
never been good at endgames,
luckily this one was a pretty simple one with the bishop pair working better than bishop and knight. note how my light-squared bishop hinders the opposing dark-squared bishop by blockading his pawn on a dark square. all with enough time to march my passed pawns so that one could promote before the king could make his way over to the queenside.

Nice manoeuvering endgame - R + B on opposite colours. Shows the value of a big pawn, and why pawns belong on the opposite colour of square to your bishop (... a6 and ... b5)!

Just schooled a noob. My knight was hung starting at move 8...

a good under 20 moves with the London System. going with the Dutch pawn on f5 and castling into the weakened kingside proves to be a bad idea for black. pawn to c4 just releases any possible tension in the center and white is perfectly happy to retreat the bishop to c2, since the b1-h7 diagonal is all white is concerned with for that bishop. the semi-open g-file makes a great place for the rook. I think black had some last chances towards the end with maybe 14. ... Bg7. 14. ... Kh8 loses to Bxg6. It probably doesn't matter what blak does at that point. black's development is so botched it's pretty hopeless.
