Good stuff.

Is there any chance you have the moves leading up to that combo?

A difference in ECF grades of 134 is like the difference between Skeeter's OTB rating and his rating on here.

Anyway, here's the entire game:

For those who like this sort of thing - I think I have a video of Mike Tyson knocking out a six year old girl which I can post if there's enough interest.

Just having a quick glance: does the combo work?
After Rg8, my idea was Rd7!?

Very nice, a shame though that Qe7 wasn't played.

Nice, but Rg8 in the initial position is simpler.

Hi V.

I like your 37.Rg8 then Black would almost certainly have played 37....Qe7.

Jack stated if he was Alekhine then the beautiful finish is how the game
would have ended up in print.

A few times Alkehine gave a planned finish to a game as though it actually
happened to give the game some instructive gloss.
Usually it was because his opponent failed to find the best defence and got
mated in a more mundane fashion as in the above game.
If you saw just the bare score then the Bc5 and Rh1 idea may have gone past you.

Yes.... Rg8, Qe7, Rxd8, Qxd8, Qb7 mate. Not as nice, but to the point. In OTB games I prefer to minimise the chances of errors in calculation.

Wouldn't white simply play 38. Rxd8 after 37. Rg8 Qe7? No way to stop 39. Qb7#...

Edit: too late.... 😉

My philosophy as well, after too many painful experiences as a frustrated chess artitst.
