I felt I could/should have won this game. to my opp's credit he never gave up and found some tactic to save a draw.

I've not added or changed anything. I simply corrected the {} things
and removed some white space.

Why did you think 20. Rd1 was winning?

To me, it appears that if white goes through all the exchanges without bothering with Qg5, he should be fine.

you're right. Rd1 is not winning but the excitement value when playing it was high!

Wouldn't white be down by a bishop then?

No my mistake. It's equal

Looks to me like Black is clearly better after 22. .... e5 23. Rxe5 Qxh6 24. Qxh6 Rxe1+ 25. Rxe1 gxh6 etc, after White missed the simplifications starting with 21. Rxd1 that have been pointed out.

However, I think Black missed a real shot late with the absolutely dizzying array of possibilities and complications after 30. .... Rb2! and a probable winning advantage.
