If you don't like the wild tactics of most gambits often the best thing to do is return the pawn fairly early (I alw ...[text shortened]... s when I usually make my most horrific, seemingly random and definately stupid blunders.
I think that is what struck me at first glance: the Morra's close resemblance to the Danish Gambit. But it would seem that the half open c-file of the Morra causes more problems for Black than the half open e-file of the Danish. And, is that Earl Grey, you're spewing?
