Part 1 of WGM Julia Ryjanova's lecture at the MCC is up online for viewing. It's a creative lecture which looks at how sometimes we miss good moves by thinking dogmatically. In part 1, Julia looks at games from Fischer, Morphy and Kamsky where a “good” piece is exchanged for a “bad” piece to transform an advantage from one type to another.

Julia is the coach of the Qatari women's team and recently won the Australasian Women's Masters at MCC. Enjoy!
