hello, I have just found out that i am right side dominant which apparently means that i process information better with images, colour, emotion and patterns. Rather than linear, structured information.
Does anyone know of ways of studying the game for people who are not naturally analytical and objective?
You could try chess videos. I have no idea which side of my brain is "dominant" but I really enjoy some of the stuff posted on http://www.chessvideos.tv/
You have to learn to use the analytical side of the brain through hard work. On the plus side, at least the creative one will come in handy once you have that skill.
Either give up chess because it requires analysis and objectivity, or realize that left/right brain dominance equaling creativeness or objectivity is psuedoscientific horoscopory.
I'd suggest someone of your chess rating would be around 50/50 which is synonomous with someone who considers all the options, and makes a logical decision based up on it (Darwin's words not mine)
Right brained people tend to think of too many options, never finish - too creative. Left brained people tend to think very limited, and rarely make the best decision - too reserved
I just looked at the test, and I can visualize it spinning in whichever direction I want it to spin in. So is my brain equally balanced? Or is my brain just messed up? 🙂
