so it was not actually from the method itself, thankyou for that small but rather significant admission. as for whether or what i should have focused on, you are correct, i did ignore some very well meaning advice, perhaps from your self and others, wormwood most notably if my memory serves me correctly, but who has not ignored some good advice? i ...[text shortened]... rguing with me and post something good for us to consider, i am not worth your effort my friend.

i miss the debate already too, alas you are all crazy, however, when and if i ever get better i am coming to get you both, and once i defeat you we shall all go together to worship at Bangievs alter and offer up incense to the image of the great man!
lol, i am afraid my friends it is your destiny, anyhow, here is an opening that i frequently meet when playing against my little java based chess program entitled supreme chess, i would like some suggestions for whites next move, I have tried Nc3, Re1, Nbd2, e5 and would like your opinions on c3 as this has strangely been my best effort, sacrificing a pawn but getting good play, i wonder if this is a good strategy when playing against computers- regards Robert.
Originally posted by robbie carrobieI don't see how 7.c3 gives up a pawn. 😕 but yes engines are greedy little bastards and will take poisoned pawns probably 60% of the time unless it will really compromise its position short term.... That is if its a light weight like this one.

and as you can see the engines greed got the better of him, even though my own play was not that great, anyhow, what i would really like to know is there any techniques that we can utilize to beat chess engines, i am not talking about the real meaty ones. i had read that there are certain techniques that one can employ to beat chess engines, like stonewall systems designed not to give the computer any targets, blocking the center and sacrificing pieces on the wings etc. if you know of any systems/methods or any articles online i would much appreciate it - regards Robert.

It didn't seem like you had any trouble punishing it in that game.
