I'm a 1300's player so I'm surprised I haven't been creamed by now. He might just be playing in a way to see how I react to things instead of going all out.

I guess the thread kind of went random.
I only know the names of two chess player, Bobby Fisher and Gary Kasparov (and I know the last names of some where openings are named after them).
Who would you consider the most fascinating? Bobby Fisher is a heck of a story. Any players with interesting stories?

I just got done reading the Wikipedia story on Bobby Fischer.
He seemed stubborn, paranoid and emotional. Can you imagine what he could have accomlished if he didn't boycott so much and take so much time off from chess? It's a shame.
But I also think the US was wrong to issue an arrest warrant simply for playing in a country they didn't like.
Fischer is considered one of the greatest of all time, but I think he had the potential to be inarguably the greatest.
