I've already taken a timeout win from someone cause they stopped playing but I'm not sure how long I should wait after sending them a reminder.
Plus this would make two timeout victories in a row. Don't want to look like a cheap player or anything. Then again it isn't my fault these people won't make any moves...
you always have the right to click the skull since your opponent has not moved within the time agreed right? anyone who tells you otherwise is a fool who doesn't have the brains to play at time control suitable for his/her schedule. An exception of course is vacation flag which is more a question of your good manners than anything.
I haven't had to deal with it, but my current rule on it now is to give the other person a couple of days or so if they have notified me of it.
Otherwise I may give them half a day or so, depending on how judicious the inital timebank was to begin with and how timely they have been so far.
Timebanks should cut down on most connectivity issues however, one reason I won't play 1/0 games.
About the fastest I would go fo is 2/3.
If it's an honest vacation (flag up, message, return date, complete inactivity etc.) then I'll wait - even after the expected return date. After all, s*!t happens, especially with business trips.
Any other time, I'll hit it without hesitation.
The agreed time controls are part of the game. Given the choice, I'd select an 'auto timeout' option to save a mouse click.
