I played a guy who had me in a mating net but I found a perpetual check. I offered a draw after repeating twice and he cursed at me saying (copied and pasted):
"please, accept ur defeat and be a good sportsman keeping its spirit, which is very necessary nowadays to maintain object of the games"
I said "Why should I resign? I have a perpetual"
He RESIGNED with this final message:
"u jack ass, itis better not to play with such big looser and a dishonest fool, who plays only for win"
He was from India which kind of surprised me. I thought Indian people were pleasant people. Besides, I offered the draw. Is that playing 'only for win'?
Some people...

Thank you. I just walked away from a game because i don't need to put up with that. I just wish they had an option to report people like that, for example a Rotten Tomato -Button, something like that.
When one realises this then its easy to become emotionally detached, this saves us from becoming despondent when we suffer defeat and self consumed when we are victorious. Its not about us, we do not matter, all that matters in chess is the chessmen.
I'll tell you a secret. There is no opponent, why? because there is no I in chess.

Hi Woody.
Quite a game.
I see you turned down a perpetual round about move 26.
Qd1+ and Qg4+ etc.
I would have taken that.
The Qd5+ and f5 idea stops the mate but Ba2.
Having that position in my head and I would have pulled the plug
on the game and taken the perpetual.
Black has Nc4 but that is an accident waiting to happen.
Although the lad shows an Indian flag he may not be from that country.
There are 427 players flying the flag of Antartica.
Are there that many people down there?
I'd forget it. Chess players are a funny lot all I've met have been harmless.
Originally posted by greenpawn34Yeah I saw Ba2 but thought Nc4 and followed by b5 was good for me. I was up three pawns and thought I should play for a win. I just overlooked his Re1, which I should have considered (I only looked at Rc1)

I rejected the perpetual on move 26 for the same reason.

"...427 from Antarctica?!"
Yup.
Click on the 'Players' icon. do a search by Country and you
will see all the countries listed. Choose one to see how many
players on here are flying that flag.
It tells you at the bottom, if there less than 30 you have to do manuel count.
I've only checked out a few, St.Helena has 8 playes,
The Vatican has 152, the USA has 66,122, the UK 22,537.
Greenland has 22 but only 3 have made any moves this year.
(the rest must be hibernating.)
One of the Greenland players is called Potato. His profile reads.
"I may seem like a mild mannered root vegetable, but actually, I am a nut."
And here is the Nut called Potato in action.
