Yup. That too is swindle.
The first was from a game between two GM's and such things very rarely happen
which makes it, from our wood pushers point of view, very enjoyable.
The second, though equally enjoyable, came from a net game which takes
a bit of the fun out of it. The chances are he had 10 or more games on the go.
Imagine it was from an OTB game (as is the first one) where the player
actually leaves the board to go and get another Queen, places it on the board
and then gets mated next move.
Now that would have made it a 'real' swindle.
Good game though, never seen it before. Thanks.
Here is me getting swindled in Blitz from last year in a thread I posted
called; You Have Just Got to Laugh.
I'm White and pull off my Queen winning combo not even suspecting
for one second there was a sting in the tail.
...Check all checks (sigh).
Knowing me I probably had a tonne of games going as well. 🙂
I didn't realise the first game was two grandmasters.
As for the last game, if it weren't blitz I'm sure you'd have seen a better move than Nxf7.

I simply never smelt it coming and stopped dead after NxQ.
He took on g2 with a Bishop, I took it with a Rook (from g7 if I recall).
Perhaps in my mind's eye it was a pawn on g2.
I simply had no danger bells ringing.
Can't complain, I have swindled more games I should have lost than
the reverse. I don't mind giving one back every now and then.
It would get awfully boring if I won every game.

Partly tongue-in-cheek, I think I am usually better off if I drop a rook, as opposed to a minor piece. When I'm a rook down, I have minor pieces on the board that allow me to create mayhem and to threaten more valuable pieces with less nominally-valued ones. When I'm a minor piece down, the opposite is the case.
Whacky pawn structures and unclear/unbalanced potential endings also help me swindle.
Has anyone else noticed particular conditions that make swindling easier?
