maybe things were somewhat 'lost in translation'.
English may not have been spoken well and a word which in literal translation to English meant 'seductive' was said, which was then taken out of context !
maybe he thought the girls dress was too colourful and the stripes could be distracting to some opponents and unfortunately was not able to communicate this very well due to poor english.
