0-1
the 2nd instance is one in which i was not directly involved.
it was a tournament in mumbai for players below 16 yrs of age.
now this tournament has 11 rounds played in league format.
everybody tries the scholars mate looking for easy victims in the early round.
the scholars mate is
1.e4 e5
2.qf3 d6
3.bc4 nc6(or any equally stupid move)
4.qxf7#
this poor guy fell victim thrice to this.this guy had a beautiful board of marble peices and wood a real amateur.had just learnt chess knew how to write moves but not the basics.
in round1
hes playing black and gets scholars mated.
in rd3 hes thinks he knows how to defnd the checkmate.
1.e4 e5 2.qf3 d6 3.bc4 nh6 4.d4 exd4 5.bxh6 gxh66.qxf7#
hes real frustrated something makes his way to round 9.here a faces a strong opponent who joined the competition late.heres the game,
hes playing black as in the previous 2 games.
1.e4 e5 2.qf3 bc5 3.bc4 nf6(finally hes found a way out)4.g4 d6(looking for bc1xg4)5.g5 nfd7 6. oh no qxf7# his reaction wa worth a watch.it was more of confusion.than digust.i finished with 6 out of 11 5 wins 2 draws.he finished with 3 out of 11.4 draws 1 walkover his opponent didnt turn up.in the the tenth round he was trying out the scholars mate against his oppponent.thias sequence of events is real funny im sure it is.i laughed like hell
