yes, but I'm really interested in how many games you've played (roughly) to get where you are now? and what kind of a learning curve there is. - I've played less than 200 blitz games ever, and I'm guessing lack of experience is why I suck at it so bad. I know it's not lack of understanding chess, I know it's not my tactics, I know it's not my openings. and ...[text shortened]... with wulebgr here, but after 25 000 blitz games he outranks me by 400 points in blitz.
Blitz takes some getting used to. You just gotta get used to the time control is all. I've played maybe 7,000-10'000 blitz games (rated and unrated).

Blitz is a slow climb, with lots of frustration...but today I broke 1500 for the first time on Uchess, stayed there for about 5-6 games, then dropped back down.

What do you like for time controls?

Playing blitz online seems a bit cold and pointless to me. I love OTB blitz, though: as far as fun goes, chess doesn't get any better than that.

Chepukaitis, a blitz expert, has won against Fisher 10-0 in a blitz series. chepukaitis is NOT even a grandmaster his rating is about 2400. under time pressure, chess is an another game ....

I really like to play blitz. Yesterday, I had 1500 on uchess... and today I'm getting down to 1300...
It is funny how you can easily lose 200 points in few games...

It is very hard to get to 1600... I mean... for me... 🙄

I was at 1916 on playchess in early December, and two weeks later had fallen to 1550. This week I'm bouncing on both sides of 1800.

I play 3 0 almost exclusively.

15 1 games, which I also enjoy, are not blitz, and they affect a different rating.

Are 2/0 time controls bullet or blitz?

some 1 0 and 2 0, generally only when I'm losing 3 0 on time and need to work on my reflexes.

Have you spent more time playing blitz or playing slow? due to the amount of time per game, it's a given that most chess players nowadays play more blitz games, but I think time as a whole on each category counts.

I personally love 3/0 blitz and I have been bouncing around the 1700 level on playchess by playing sharper lines than I typically play (in particular the freak attack against d6 Sicilians).

Good point. For example, I spent thirty minutes at playchess this morning (five games) and in another thirty minutes solved half a dozen tactical problems in a database and made three moves in CC games, while looking at four other games without making a move.

I'm sick of all the people who complain about blitz - particularly when they lose at it. Look at the speed chess games of the likes of Short and Adams and tell me if they could play like that if they spent all their time on CC?

Who is complaining?
