you get back with me on that...
and wait til he starts trying.
he has a tendency to wait til you've proven yourself "worthy" to start putting thought into his moves... dirty patzer...

I once got told where I went wrong by the player I'd just beaten. I needed a Pint after that one.

I got a lecture from an opponent rated 250 points below me where he explained how every one of my moves was crap and I really needed to spend more time studying the Caro-Kann. At move 22 he summed up by pointing out how bad my position was and his lost P didn’t mean anything; he was getting ready to rip me apart if only he hadn’t dropped his R next move. You gotta love 'em.

There is a famous OTB player in the local league at a very good high level who at some point was winning, thats in every game they played EVER!
We also had a player who would read a broad sheet newspaper whilst playing and made it look like he couldn't see the board while he beat the pants off you, CLASS.
The best OTB comment I've ever heard was "I lost to you and your cr$p!!"
My ECF Grade was 79 when I beat a 140, when I told him my grade he said one Hundred and what, then I corrected him back to just 79.

I like that one, when a player you have just beaten tells you what you should have done better.
It happened to one of my team in the national league this weekend, I think his opponent blundered into a position where he was forced to lose a piece and my team mate had a long think about it because he couldnt believe somebody that strong would have made that mistake intentionally and it was probably a trap to entice him in. Anyway, he went for it and ended up winning a piece and the game and as his opponent was leaving he said something like "you took your time to win that, I would have seen that streight away"

I was playing a highschooler in a 15 min game at a local chess club. I was new to playing with a clock, and like most players do, I forgot to hit it after one of my turns.
I
nstead of letting me know or simply waiting, he started acting like it was his turn. He never actually touched a piece, which would be illegal, but he leaned over the board, held his hand over the pieces, and acted like he was thinking.

When I looked at the clock to see how much time he was taking up, I realized my clock was still ticking, so I hit it, and he moved instantly and hit his clock. Then he just smiled at me.

I did checkmate him with a queened pawn at the end but I had less than 10 seconds left. When he held his hand out to shake, I felt like slapping him accross the face. But then I would have been arrested, so...

I have 5 wins to your 1 rubberboy.

And 2 wins to dumdum's 1

That's excluding all our draws.

And I have a game that I will win against both of you in progress at the moment...

I underestimate people, it's not a good thing.

I underestimated Patzergrl the first time we played, you, tomtom, and Dutch Defense especially...

No idea why those people seem to make me relax.. it's frustrating 😛.

Hey, i think that's a decent strategy by him (except that putting his hands over the pieces would be a little to far) to make your opponent not notice his time ticking down😉

if blitz on this site ever becomes rated, start a game with max time, and then make one move, and then don't move for another 50 minutes. don't talk to him or anything... make him think the server froze. 😛

also, a favorite of mine:
while your opponent is in a long pause, ask him if he has forgotten how the pieces move. offer a reminder.

Being called slow minded after losing in blitz was probably the most insulting.
