I quite like this for black...
1 d4 e5 2 dxe5 d6 3 exd6 Bxd6
I hate d4 d5 games, so hard to get even, this seems to gives black quite a few tactical chances especially when i get 2 rooks to the centre. Plus gives a cheap attack on the queen in blitz. Will post a few games when I have some worth it.
Any of you have some examples?

Thats nice, I've seen a lot of lines whith Qe7 and 0-0-0 are played setting up a discovered attack with the bishop... see the same attack there just a bit later 🙂
Looked at the Englund gambit but seems like a trap line you do or don't know...
d6 seems more sound

Just showing what would have happened if Count Isouard
has tried this instead of the Philidor.
Count Isouard was French so it was most likely he who opted
for the Phildor. The Duke was a German.

Nice posts. Here is a crap game but it shows the first 8 moves i like in this line,

The benefits i see are... black avoids a d4,d5 game ..
-but also e4 is attacked.
-black has lots of opportunities to pin on the e and d files
-gets 2 tempo from bxd6 and white having to defend his queen after 0-0-0
( a pawn is worth 3? )
in that game i think 9...h5 was cheap and doesn't show what the opening does... but it was blitz.
Any of you have some games on this line.... what would you do to counter it?

But, without remembering that when I went into the thread I wondered what black would do after n-f3 or even e4 (although after thinking about it for a moment the e4 idea doesn't work out quite as well as I thought because after my idea of b-c4 or n-f3 then f6 was possible). At any rate after n-f3 I don't think black is getting what he is really looking for.

I am guessing Rxe2+ and it can't be taken because the queen is lost.
