White is threatening Ng5 followed by Qe7# and Black looks like his position is hopeless. How does he save the half-point? ...[text shortened]... Nd3 33. Rxb5 33... Nf4+ 34. Kg3 34... Ne2+ 35. Kh3 Nf4+ 36. Kg3 Ne2+ 37. Kg2 Nf4+ 1/2-1/2[/pgn][/b]

Hey GP,
Perpetual checks is a great blog theme, but don't forget that other great way to save the half-point:
[b]Enik-Eiffel Correspondence 1957
White to play
[pgn]
[Result "1/2-1/2"]
[FEN "2r3k1/R5p1/6Pp/5p2/3p1P2/4nP1q/5Q2/6K1 w - - 0 1"]
1. Ra8 Rxa8 2. Qxe3 dxe3 {Stalemate!}
1/2-1/2 [/pgn]
This position is from "Chess Tactics" by Paul Littlewood. It's by far and away my favourite chess tactics book.[/b]

Anyone,
Continuing the next move in the simulation there from bosintang's first post, would it still be perpetual check if the white king plays 'Kh1'? I think if white plays 'Kh1' next, then black would eventually return to a hopeless situation because white can also have its knight block any potential threat from the black rook which would be a dangerous thing for black to do at any rate because of the position of the white rook...well that's how i see it, did I miss something?...

thx tom, but are we absoultely sure it won't allow white a free move or something to neutralize or delay this new threat?..like moving the white queen to protect the white knight for instance...
