I have been voted by my peers Scottish Chess Player of the Year.
The previous 5 winners have all been GM's.
(one of which I know for certain voted for me).
I'm totally shocked.

It's for my support and writing about the Scottish game rather than
my OTB exploits, my golden days are now far behind me.
Also a thank you for the 400+ Corners, my column in
The Scottish Chess mag and Rampant Chess.
I am really chuffed to pieces.
Also I have just found out that I am being made an honourary
and life member of the Edinburgh Chess Club. (founded 1822).
This is too much, that is not a title they hand out lightly.
Previous owners of this award include Howard Staunton in the 1860's.
(Wonder what I'll get for doing 400 blogs on here. 😉 )
Oh yeah. Well I won all 3 events I competed in for 5th grade Field Day. I still have the Blue Ribbons, I keep them in the top drawer of my dresser so that whenever I need a new pair of socks I'm reminded of my greatness. I bet you didn't win any ribbons at Field Day, not even a yellow one, and now you're trying to compensate for your failure. Well you never will I tell you! I was first I will always be first!
