I've read a lot lately in American chess magazines, bemoaning the sorry state of American Chess. My message to them..."don't worry about it!" The sad fact is most American's just don't care about chess, so it's no wonder America is not much of a chess power. The countries of Europe and the former Soviet Union will continue to be dominant players on the world chess scene because there cultures tend to encourage chess, and America, in general, does not... Thank God for Red Hot Pawn!!
