Why didn't you hide your king on h3? Possibly still a draw, but you could at least have worked on making your pawn majority a win.

I think you could have won that game, the general rule is that the more pawns on the board the greater the chance for victory when your up a pawn, Lev Alburt gives a % for each type of endgame.

This looks like a draw to me. As long as the queens aren't exchanged of course.

Here is some advice I received from a high rated player at an OTB tourney. "If your opponent offers a draw and you cannot find a clear win, take the draw." I think you may have had a chance to win but it would not be easy.

It depends. What if the position offers no risk to you? As long as you are careful not to drop your queen or step into mate you are fine. Exchanging queens can only favour the side with more pawns, so playing 10 more moves wouldn't hurt you, but could possibly help you.

I think that's terrible advice. I only take a draw if I think there's a good chance I will lose if I go for a win. I would have certainly played on in this position if I was White.

I checked with God, white has a forced mate in 50.

Seems like a pretty fair draw actually.

Looks like it could be draw , but as you have extra pawn you could have to play on and let your opponent work for it - because if white doesnt make blunders they cant lose.

I've just remembered some better advice about draw offers - If your opponent offers you a draw try and work out why he thinks he is losing.

If it was GM's playing, it'd be a draw.....the rest of us may try to see if the extra pawn would do it when the other guy screws up.

Why you actually offered a draw ? You could have exchanged queens and then move your pawns forward....

Only if the exchange is accepted, which it shouldn't be.

I agree that the advice to take the draw unless you see a clear win is awful. Sit down at the board and you don't have a clear win, you wouldn't just accept the draw then would you?
