And I added you, as you like crime fiction! Who do you read?

That's how you showed up in my inbox!

A lot of straight forward classic stuff: Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Ed McBain, and Elmore Leonard. And probably my current favorite, Ace Atkins.

How would you describe your novel?

My novel is an attempt at a cautionary tale about humans playing God, and how interfering with natural selection/evolution can have severe consequences.

It looks at the mistreatment of animals and nature as a whole (Trump wouldn't like it!), and tries to be a new age sci-fi story to boot.

On police/crime stories, I'm a fan of Michael Connolly, Lee Child (Military Police), nice easy entertainment...

I'm working on a police concept of my own, as always with a bit a sci-fi in it too.

You two are obviously Americans. My booklist which is crime/mystery or crime/procedural rather than crime/thriller or crime/horror, includes only two of your authors, plus about 10 of equal importance from several other countries.

At least you're trying. Stieg Larsson, Peter Robinson, Ruth Rendell ?

Please.

'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' is huge here in the Americas. I work at Amazon part time. 'The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye' is starting to show up on order a hundred times a shift.

And yes, I know who Inspector Banks is. 😉

I have all 4 - and I'm not usually a book collector. I've looked at the new one and read an excerpt, and I won't be buying it. She's not the girl I know, she's a Lagercrantz creation.

Hi, I'm British by the way. I find Banks too mundane, too British I guess, each story is as the previous. A charge that could be set to Lee Child too.

Stieg's first book was good, though they fell off in two and three.

I've not read any Randell, too many TV versions.

I like Paul Johnston and Val McDirmond (sorry spelling is off there).
